but i know what detnation is, and it has yet to "bogg" or go to limp mode, it has been running great ever since i did it (2-3 weeks ago), and no i dont have a BOV.

The point of all this is that because you have a pre 2000 engine, limp mode will not save you from blowing your engine up because you dont have a map/boost sensor. Even if you arent having problems, you still arent achieving what you think you are or hope to achieve by hooking up a mbc and cranking it up.Check the classifieds for a used chipped ecu if money is tight. Sometimes people will want your stock ecu for their chipped ecu + $200. So it can be affordable to do it the right way.

ok....but i thought i had the map sensor?...if not wht the hell is tht **** on my air box?
