Default GOING WITH APR CHIP...DV QUESTION

Looks like I'll be getting the car chipped within the next couple of weeks. With two programs from APR, 93 Octane and Stock, the price will be about $748.00

My question to all of you is...is it neccessary to get the DV and the CAI at the time of chip? Or will the car be okay without it for a little while?

Thanks!

Next step after chip/dv/CAI

H&R Springs, AWE exhaust, Window Tint.......

Chill, a whole 20 minutes without a reply

You will need a new DV very quickly as the old one will likely blow out soon. Cheapest is the 710N from the TT. CAI is not needed.

Thanks!

Unless you get a bigger turbo, no intake is needed. It DOES make your DV sound alot better though. Also if you get a bigger exhaust, you need a new intake, otherwise your torque will dip low early.

Does anyone know if the APR DV will work with the B7's engine? The guy I spoke with at the APR dealer told me I shouldn't get a DV. Now I'm reading that I have to....If the APR DV is not good...where can I buy an upgrade other than on the APR site?

Thanks!

i talked to the guys extensively at apr and they said they tested a car up to like 300 hp on the stock dv........

but then why do they sell one? to get in the game..... here is what you can do, not get a dv use your stock one, and when your stock one fails call apr and tell them that you just got your car tuned by them and your stock dv failed and you would like them to replace it at no charge since there is no need to up grade.....

i have apr tunning and don't really like bashing people, but why would 90+% of the audi community with tunning buy dv's if it is not neccassary? they wouldn't

and as for the cai.... if you just wanna make your dv louder, do a drop in filter and airbox mod or get a cone filter and heatshield......... cai is pointless and money you could of spent on the rest of you list

You have a B7, no need for a different DV. YourDV is nothing like the APRR1 or 710N dv. Its an internal electronicaly controlled valve. You can find hundreds of oppinions on chips/APR by searching, which is something you obviously dont like to do [>:]
