I tried some searching and didn't find much. Does that mean that with mine, (electronic valve) I can't get one? If i can, where can i get it? Thanks for any response.

These may sound like dumb questions for many of you, but I have no idea. When I do this, I want to do it right, not half-a$$ed.

With some help for a very nice gentleman, I've found out that I do not need a DV. The Chip alone will be just fine. I'll most likely be getting it installed on Monday of next week. I'm very excited!

Not sure if your B7 already has the updated "C" version dv and updated PCV in it, if not, they most likely will leak. Mine did that the first week I got chipped, the boost dropped 6psi and oil was coming out of the oil cap. So I put the program back to stock settings and locked it (APR security lock out) and took it to the dealer. I played dumb with them and just told them that I read somewhere that the DV's and PCV's are known to leak. They kept my car for 2 days till the part arrived and replaced them with the new versions under warranty

As for the CAI, don't waste your money on one. No performance gain, it just makes the engine sound slightly different, not worth the $$$

ok, first to answer your apr ?, it is a totally different car after getting tuned.

how do you find out if what does? your car have the updated dv? search or since you have already asked alot of ?'s here ask, but people might need to know your vin, to find out if you are an early model, later or 1/2 yr model

or just call the dang dealership and ask them about it

People on Audizine have found the stock DV in the 05/06 (07?) B7s to be failure prone so a better DV is definitely in my list of standard maintenance items even though I'm stock. I think the updated DV is much better but still not as good as an aftermarket model.

just got off the phone with the APR dealer. It seems that guys with B7's that have switched DV's have had more problems than guys who have not. Guys who have swtiched have actually gone back to stock after problems with the after market.

Also, I was going to do this soon, but APR does a sale around thanksgiving. You buy the chip and you get one program free, or you buy the chip + one program and then you get all the others for free. I'm going to wait, and save my money.

My updated DV is still holding up fine, after about 6 months now. I'm still holding 18psi of boost. You can go ahead and get the program done. If your dv or pcv starts to leak, you can actually tell, your car will run like stock. If you have a boost gauge, you will see a drop on boost. The difference between the stock and APR91 is night and day, it's like driving a different car...good luck

I'm not sure, but if it is the same electronic DV as what the MkV GTIuses Forge makes one. It works fine and holds boost well against chip tuning. Read up on the Mkv GTI forums. Definately wait for the tuningdeal to come out. Iwaited my 1.8T Passat chipped for the same reason.
