is this a good deal?
looks cheap, is that a wise choice for my 2000 a4 1.8t quattro?
most other kits are like 5 times the price... does that mean this is crap, or wont fit?

For starters there is no software which will be required for the engine to run properly or even well. The second thing that worries me is the fact that they advertise it for the jetta and the passat. Both have 1.8t's but the setup is very differernt. I cant picture the same setup working on both vehicles.

For a t3t4 (JEFF chime in, you had one) you need a good tune and programming. You also need injectors, high flow cat or test pipe, FMIC, intake, exhaust, probably manifold, upgraded clutch, custom oil and coolant piping for the turbo, and I am not sure what else. One of the mods here (jeff) had a t3t4. Maybe he can give you an idea of what kind of venture this was. It for sure is not a $699 slap on turbo from ebay. Its a lot of custom work and tuning. Without the proper software and tune, you will likely blow your turbo, or your engine, or both.
So, its so cheap, because it probably does not come with most of the things you need to make it work.

BINGO! Although for everything you get, its pretty dam cheap. And you ask why is it so cheap??? Well, thats ebay my friend. Most of the parts are either stolen or its a wholesale dealer. You can find quality things on ebay for a fraction of the real cost, but at the same time you can also end up with a lot of junk from ebay. Just research the seller, see what past customers had to say about his "turbo kits" and make a wise choice based off of the research you gathered..
ebay can be a mans best friend, but if your stupid about it ebay can also haunt your nightmares for years to come when you realize you got a used turbo with a cheap intercooler core and a knock off HKS BOV, lol... but take the chance and get back to everyone so we know whats up.
