That's a turbo often sold on ebay. Do a search for ebay K04 and you'll see that many people have had issues with them going bad in 15,000 miles or less.

That is awfully cheap, and does not have a brand. If you're going to do a ko4 spend a little extra for a Borg Warner. It's about $940 for one, price reflects quality. Or... buy if and boost the hell out of it for a couple months, and take it off, check the shaft play, and depending on that junk it and buy another or throw it back on.

Was thinking of buying it as the turbo on my 1999 Audi 1.8T Quattro has lost boost

Buy with caution. I can't speak from my own experiences, but from the experiences of others if you plan on running stock boost levels (7-10psi) then it should last for a while. If you plan to run chipped boost levels, longevity will be hit or miss.

Is this turbo K04 same as K0415? I have found a similar one from K04-015 Turbo Audi A4 A6 Quattro & VW Passat 1.8T Turbocharger - Maxspeedingrods.co.uk
It comes at a good price and fits for my 1996 A4, and I am going to place an order.

Im pretty sure thats the same turbo I used to replace my blown out k03. Its worked well for me and I run 10psi on it. I've had it for about 20k so far. Was a pretty cheap replacement and easy to install.
