If I am not mistaken I believe that the photo is manipulated with photo shop. so I am not too sure that there are too many lives at risk.

ya i know, but yet i could still control it reallly well, its just that there was dirt on the turn and it messed up my slide/drift. the canyon is in the santa clarita area. off the 5 freeway exit on magic mountain parkway and its near there. there are soo many areas around here its unbelivable. we should meet up one time and go there, no cops at all and they have straights and turns and everything. i hit 120 on the straight 2 days ago, its an adrenaline rush.
Yep, sounds like you've got things straight now, and you've learned your lesson. And yeah, I certainly wouldn't have known not to drive an econo-box like a race car, with a friend inside... at night... while retarded... I hope you wear wearing a helmet. In fact, I think a helmet might be a good move for you pretty much anytime you spend awake.
bro, that's hilarious!!!

riddler - glad you're alive man, but what's the deal with the pix and the carefree attitude about dying, almost killing a friend and driving like a maniac? it is true that people who buy certain cars, buy them for a reason, and the car reflects alot about who they are. remember, this is an audi forum. don't be surprised that you are getting flak about your civic driving and about your overall attitude towards, well, life in general.

be safe.

hmm.....okay he told us about his accident...he was b*tched at...then some defended him...why are we still talking about this? end of story...who friggin' cares. people will always have their own opinions about a certain situation so what's the point of arguing about this?

If it was manipulated, it would be clearer & I dare say that the smile was more "Oh no there is poo running down my pants" typ of smile than an "oh yeah i'm a ******** and happy about it" smile.

I'm just curious as to why everyone is jumping riddler's case, he was in a canyon road, probably not to many people around or on the road, just 1 friend in the car (most of us have at one time or another been the friend also, encouraging reckless behavior). Another guy posted a tread about him wrecking his SISTERS car, speeding through a neighborhood, in the dark and rain. He didnt even know the neighborhood. Loses control and ends up in someones yard and hits a tree stump. Once again, the friend in the passenger seat. No one is calling him names or preaching responsiblity to him. If you have never done anything stupid, then by all means, call us all idiots and tell us about responsiblity. But I doubt anyone here can say they have never done stupid stuff for fun, especially with friends around.

I'm not trying to stir up sh**, just my two cents.

Take it to the track. There are plenty of High Speed Driver's Education places out there. You can 4 wheel drift in whatever kind of car you want while learning. They usually tell you if there is dirt or grass or whatever on the track, and any blind corners have flag stations to warn you of any traffic or debris in your way.

Did I do stupid stuff when I was younger - yes. Does it make it not stupid - no.

Regardless, I am happy you are okay and appear to have learned a little. If you do more mountain running, be careful about drifting around blind corners. Get someone to scout the road first to make sure of no oncoming traffic and have radios in case someone does head the other way.

It is still better to go to the track though.

Remember, it is not the fall that kills you, it is the sudden stop at the end.
