Default accident

tire shred, causing me to get in a little bit of an accident. thanks to audi being so safe im okay. just got a couple questions:

1) i got the 18" USP wheels on my b5. they got a little scratched, how hard is it to repaint all 4? ive read the write ups, looks pretty basic. where do i get the same colored paint? dealership sells wheel paint? would i have to take the tires off to paint, or would it just be easier that way?

2) rear bumper got ripped off but isnt really messed up (cosmetically), just the support is. can i get a new support for the bumper or do i have to get a whole new bumper?

3) got a fatty dent just under the gas tank. how much would the body shop have to paint after the dents fixed? theentire rear panel?

4) some minor surface scratches on my 1 pce headlight, no way to get that out right?

thanks for any help, im going to go see what insurance says tomorrow.

Probably going to need to post some pics of the areas in question in order to get a realistic answer to the paint question. As for the others, not sure, but a call to the dealership is your quickest/easiest route - they'll be able to tell you right away.

first of all how did ur tires shred? were they worn or something? as for painting the wheels, do exactly as the instructions u read say and u'll be fine. u can get the paint at auto parts stores like autozone, advanced auto or wutever u have by u. make sure u get engine enamel paint as they last longer. make sure u cn still use ur rims b4 u go painting them though. as for the rear bumper, are u talking bout the support on the bumper or the body? not sure bout the one on the bumper but i think the one on the body is a dealer part or a junk yard one will work. i would try to see if u can pop the dent outa the gas tank. and they headlights, depending on how deep it is, u might be able to sand a little bit and then polish it. but if it's pretty deep, then i doubt anything will make them themselves again. again if there is a junkyard by u, that would be the best way or maybe ebay S4 headlights will do justice lol

I think he meant a tire shred on the highway, like an 18-wheeler's retread chunk, caused the wreck ;P

na thats not what i meant. my tires had some miles left in them. i was going to get new ones around december. but after i took it off and put my spare on i noticed a screw in the center of my tire. im guessing that did it. it didnt exactly shred because its still on the wheel but it seperated at the outter sidewall. i got a hook up at discount tire so im gonna get new tires earlier than i thought
