ok so yesterday i was driving and suddenly i have no boost. i hear the trubo ( much louder then normal making a histing sound) and didnt know hwat was rong. frist i though one of the inlet pipes blew off. butthen i realized that sometimes i would get boost and some times i wouldent. so i took it to my mechanic and all the pipes were fine. we then came to the conclusion that the stock dv is broken. does this sound about right? if it is then im luckey beucase today i was going in to change my stock dv to a Baliey's anyways so let me know if this is right.

 

If all the piping is not lose and there are no leaks, i would replace the DV. It says in your sig that you have the baileys dv but you say its not installed? You are chipped, do you at least have a 710N in there? If its the stock DV and you are chipped, i would say the DV is deffinately shot.

 

ya the only thing that is in right now is the chip. i have all the other parts they just arnt installed beucase i work full time and cant leave my car. tonite at 5 im getting the intake and dv put in and then if thereis no time for exhaust i will be doing that first thing saterday morning

 

i had the same problem and went to my shop they told me all piping was fine...its not you have a boost leak that only is visable under highboost check the piping right next to the dv from under the intercooler. ( i had the same problem) i sent my car back to the mechanic twice and they couldnt find a leak.. i sent it back to change the dv and while changing the dv they found a boost leak that they said was only visable under high boost (unfortunately they changed my dv also.. thats when i discovered there was a forge unit in the car that i replaced with a 710n. now the firge unit is just sitiing in my back seat)

 

Well then im sure the stock dv is dead. its a pretty easy DIY for the DV and intake. the dv wouldnt take more than 30-45 mins for a noob to do. But if you dont know how to jack up your car and remove the belly pan, leave it to someone else i guess. how much are you going to spend to have someone else do this work for you?
