Last night i re gapped my plugs from .032 to .028 (which seems like nothing) went for a drive and wowowowow... I just keep on being impressed. Honestly I wouldnt want it any faster. With it being front trac, I cant make 90 degree turns from a stop too easily without losing traction. Im deffiantely going to have to re learn how to drive the car in a sense. When I have WOT I can hear the air rushing in like crazy which is a new sound, kind of scared me at first as i thought it might be a leak but i think not. I have noticed with gapping the plugs to .028 that it starts up quiker and top end rpm's are smoother. Everyone should have this mod by the way (giac not just gapping plugs) If you spend $10k+ on your car whats another $500-$600???

yeah a friedn of mine is getting GIAC, apparently when you purchase GIAC yu can download a program for free and it can run stats and stuff for you when your driving, so he'll have a loptop hooked up to his car etc. and it has a bunch of other amazing features, its a good chip.

I got APR, which does 56hp/90trq but it doesn have as many options/upgrades. yeah these chips are amazing

 

Hey I'm curious do you have an exhaust on your car? I heard you shouldn't chip unless you have an exhaust to release all the extra back pressure.

Do they just flash the program or solder a chip in your ECU ?

 

No i dont have an exhaust other than stock. It would deffinately help but it isnt a MUST according to the experts. That will be down the road.

 

Well for mine they flashed it, but had to take the ecu out for bench testing or something. Doesnt take too long either.

 

Not having an after market exhaust won't ruin anything, it will just restrict you a tad...

 

I believe reccomended gap was .032, and per NGK's site i believe for every 50hp remove .002, so .030. I gapped my ngk's at .028 but i had full exhaust, FMIC, intake and some other crap. Either way your fine. So have you gunned it yet, you break the tire loose under acceleration.

Ahh, i said i dont think i would want it any faster, hahaha. So when you upgrading the turbo, lol 4 months.

 

Well if no one thinks ill have a situation like (i forget his name he had a vid. of a spark plug that broke off into the combustion chamber) then ill keep the gap at .028. Hahaha... Uh its fast enough right now for my budget anyway. I may put an exhaust on in the spring. I really dont want to upgrade the turbo because you can get a k03 for so cheap, id rather just keep replacing that if need be... Trying to keep gas mileage reasonable too with the prices being what they are. Plus, I dont want to turn my wife off of the car, we trade off between the a4 and the maxima about every other day during the week.
