Needless to say, the 350Z did get the upper hand. The race began at a traffic light onto an interstate and lasted for a half mile. Anyways, while taking on this 2 door altima, I realized a few things:

1. The A4 takes way to goddamn long to change gears (yes, I have a tiptronic). So I guess I would need a chip for the TCU.

2. I noticed that the higher up in the rev range I get, the car starts to taper off and not pull as hard. I'm thinking maybe my DV is not holding boost.

3. That Stage III kit from Renn-Art is looking mighty tempting.

Yeah, the tip chip would help. I noticed the same thing when I ran against my friend's 325i.

The k03 cannot hold boost all the way to redline, it will taper off after 5500 RPMS or so...

TIP does suck for shifting w/ out the Tip chip.

Good thing you didnt have a run in w/ my bro in law... hes got a APS tt 350z.. 460WHP 480WTQ all the way to redline

wait, you're in an A4Tip and you took on a 350Z which may or may not have had a 6-speed manual and may or may not have had a driver who can actually drive it???? i'm not a gambling man but with gas prices being what they are these days, i would have conserved my fuel because the odds weren't in your favor. and the sad part is, you got shpanked by "a 2-door Altima"

I say this because I remember when the Z car was its own intity. not sharing all its major parts with the entire nissan line. That's all I'm saying. And besides, I own an '88 300ZX Turbo that pulls about 525HP....at the wheels, on 93 octane..all day, until 7,100 RPMs.

BTW, did I mention it's being done with a single turbo!?

yea, I realize that fairlady's were their own entity, but the VQ isnt a bad motor.. though th SR20DET (i think) is nice.

His problem right now is fueling... the current APS/UTEC i think.. programing cannot flow the fuel he needs, so boost tapers at redline..

he bulit his motor with either 8/or 8.5 compression.... I should really tell him to up his boost... since lower compression motors handle boost better...

but like i said his problem is fueling.. and he should be able to push over 500WHP when APS sends out the upgraded fuel kits.

Come on now. I'm no idiot. I know I should have lost that race. This was just an opportunity to gauge this car against another sports car..it just so happened to be that 2 door altima.

Now, I know what I need to do with my B6

you need to get a GTRS or GT2871R ELim w/ REVO software.. that will put you in the 12's for sure.

Yes, I love the VQ motors. I think they're one of the best out there. I hope he gets his fueling on track. I would hate to know he blew that motor sky high.
