Default Great site

Found a ton of info and very detailed too on "how to"
Perfect for someone like me who's just starting to love working on an Audi.

Yep... most of us know about that site for tech info.

The forums are setup different than this one (and many others). Personally, I find it hard to read/follow threads, but the info is always solid.

Secondly, often, there are snobby replies to questions. They have little tolerance for newbie questions.

I'm not knocking it. I just like this site better. The camaraderie is genuine and the atmosphere is friendlier here at audiforums. It's also a lot easier to track threads here, too.

There's alot of chatter on AW that adds to the threads and makes them tediously long to read. It's become a place to chat about Audis, but the chat is overrun by worthless banter - much like any other chat room. If you don't frequent AW every few minutes, the threads move so quickly that you will lose track of where you were! It's very difficult to come back to an old thread if you've been gone all day, too. You can use their thread tracker, but that can get tedious, too. Of course there's the occasional good thread, but you have to be online at that moment to catch it or it will disappear off screen because of all the extra chatter that comes in after it!! Nevertheless, I still use their archives occasionally.

Just my opinion - obviously many people like it there that think differently than me.

My second day here and I love it. But having a place where you can find out "how to improve the range of your alarm remote" it's great!

For me at least, I ignore 90% of the stuff that is (probably) pretty obvious to you guys.

Yesterday I finally changed my cabin air filter, and destroyed in the process one of the plastic screws of the plastic cover under the right ( passenger side) wiper. No big deal. The lock is still in plave. Why use plastic screws?

I discovered also that that the intake duct to my airfilter was misaglined and deformed (?) taking air in from the inside of the hood from an opening on its side.
Duct taped the side of it and believe it or not (just a self induced feeling?) the car feels more "ready" and crisp.

I love it! Next thing Air filter. Then the remote control and finally I'll try to fix my radio that never worked in the first place.
You guys have any idea where the antenna wire runs? I'm pretty sure it's just the antenna detached, since I can get just one ( most powerful ) local station.

If I recall... the antenna goes from the rear window to the box/relay located in the trunk - bottom right, under/behind a panel. I could be mistaken, but I recall this topic two months ago. Maybe brrman remembers.

The screws are plastic to avoid corrosion from exposure to water fom the outside environment.

If your car was not getting enough (fresh) air, well then, it would feel crisper!
