HEy guys.....I was wondering.....what exactly does a carbon fiber hood do......does it just reduce weight and make your car look nicer.....or is their something else it does and how good of an investment is it?

 

its just lighter where your car is heaviest..in front also suposed to be stronger than stamped steel...uh and look cool

 

Like SlimChriz said... lighter and maybe stronger (I'm not sure about this) and a "different" look ("cooler" is subjective - I don't like the weaved look).

There may be evidence that the engine can run a bit cooler because the fiber doesn't retain heat like metal, but you'd still need air flow to really make a difference - in my opinion.

 

yeah if you go carbon I would get one with vents or a scoup so its funtional too
