HALO Bulb Replacement 2003 A4 Quattro
OK, I read the newbie post, did a search and read a number of posts and still don't have an answer to my question. I am more confused now than I was before I started reading.
I have a 2003 A4 Quattro. I have the error message "right dipped headlight". Simple enough, blown bulb. So I start looking for a replacement bulb. Syvania's web site has a the low beam listed as HID bulb, and the manual has warnings about changing Xenon lights. So it appears that the low beams are HID and Higbeams Halogen. When I bought the car, I didn't think it had Xenon bulbs, mostly because it didn't have the bright white light I thought Xenon bulbs produced (perhaps the wrong perception.) So I am looking at several posts, but notice there are some posts about a 2003 A4 Converting to Xenon bulbs. If the car is OEM Xenon, why would you have to convert. So these are my questions?
1. Is the 2003 A4 equipped with low beam Xenon bulbs from the factory?
2. If yes, does anyone recomend a particular Xenon bulb, ie 4800K.
3. If you want to change the bulb to get a whiter color, do you need to make any other modifications (Ballast)?
I really feel bad about asking a question like this but I don't want to buy the wrong bulb. I called the local auto parts store and the guy said "oh yeah, that is just a H7 bulb, even though I told him I needed the low beam ligh bulb. When I asked him about the car possibly having HID bulbs, he stated, I don't carry any HID ****. So much for relying on him. I just want to fix the light bulb [:@]. Any help is much appreciated.
