so i have added hard wiring my radar/laser detector to my list of mods to complete this weekend, after reading the DIY i am confused,the back of my panal looks alittle like the one on the diy but its not the samei think i got ithooked up. i tapped into the plug for for the sunroof switch (red to red and black to black) i am unable to test it until my ecu comes back and i am a little worried because in DIY he runs to the ground on the window frame.
should i have do it this way or is the black wire a ground as well?

1) Air box Mod
2) stereo and sub installation
3)painted airbox cover, shroud and battery cover, snorkle,(silver to match car)
4)painted a-piller gauge holder grey to match a-piller
5)installed boost and vacume, air/fuelgauges
