i used to be a die hard 5.slow fan
its a ford-2bolt main windsor block theyre not good for more than 400horse. Reliable wise. Unless the person is going to use a valley girdle and a main web girdle for extra strength.
Plus most windsor blocks had very low nickle content which isnt good for more than 450horse. Sure you could run 400+ maybe even 600 but it would be a matter of time before the block splits clean down the middle. Go on streetfire.net and look up How the stock ford block gave up or blew up. Thats a video of a 5.0 mustang going down a strip and blows the block clean in half. If the 302 is i believe a 72 or 74 and prior year casting date-its good for making power. If its a run of the mill 75+ 302 windsor-its just a disaster waiting to happen!

Good thread haha...Threw some Webers on my prelude with hopes of stomping some stangbangers but never got the **** running properly.Switched over to the Audi andhave beenquite amazed by all the tuning possibilites with these cars.

Out of the hole...witha fewvariables involved....weather, elevation, good tires, Quattro, 1.8TK04FMICGIACXBORLA plus a good driver might "smoke" a 5.0.

Stock GT/Foxbody 5.0 is good for maybbbeeee mid-14's... in a straight line of course.

Assuming that was what you were asking...straight line?

In the curvys...I'll pretend you didn't just ask that

and debadge it, then tell people your running a chipped 1.8t with exhaust. it will definetly put a smile on your face.
Why would you want to lie about your engine/mods?

Oh yeah! Youre the guy who put an S4 badge on your 12v!!! [8D]

I have a question. Not to change the subject off mustangs but.....

My friend has an '01 A4 2.8L and I have and '05 1.8t(both 100% stock). (Didn't the HP of the '05 get increased since the '01 model?)Anyways, he says he'll "smoke me" if we race. I realise that he'll probably win becuase he has a bigger engine, but would he actually "smoke me" or would i be able to hang with him??

well given that both are 100% stock and quattro with same transmission.

i would say it will be extremely close. the 1.8t is only a merely 32lbs heavier than the 2.8. and the 2.8 has a bit more power also. the 1.8t will have a slightly better top end(80mph+).. all in all, the 2.8 will probably be slightly ahead..

but, there is only one way to find out man [sm=gears.gif]
Aren't the B6's a few hundred pounds heavier too? The 2.8 has the power and weight advantange.

That quattro you were looking at on craigslist keeps dropping the price, now down to 9500, bet you could get it for 9k.
