Srt-4's are great...... for going in a strait line and not much else.
Oh don't get me wrong the motor and transmission in that thing are bullet proof up to 500hp, if i could drop that mitsu motor in TT or A3 i bet it would really scoot!

Now you're getting to the heart of it. If the race is going to happen, who says it has to be off the line, on the 5.0's terms? That's their strong suit. Run him on the highway - chaos can probably attest to the fact that they don't breathe all that well up higher in the rev band, so run him on the highway, where road speeds are high enough that he doesn't have a tall enough gear to get down into the sweet spot of his engine. Off the line they're fast, but they're meant for that and it should be no surprise. But who says you have to run him from a standstill. Hell, do a roll-on at 40mph with the K04 and supporting mods and you'll most likely be even or pulling on him the whole time.
you'll be pulling him the whole time

So is that a modified 4g64 with a twin cam head instead of the old single cam?

Its dual overhead cam, i think it was turbo magazine that tore down the block to inspect the strength of the motor and showed pics, i was pretty impressed. Mahle pistons, forged conneting rods into one piece, hardend cast crank and four valves per cylinder. Pretty good for a pile of crap.

I don't know exactly it looks exactly like the mitsubishi 4g64 head, but those were only single overhead cam weren't they?
