Has anyone put S4 stock Suspension on an A4?
please post your results in this thread, karl. i'm very interested in seeing the outcome of this.
docurley, your car is BEAUTIFUL! but how is it an oem kit if it's not an avant? how much did that run you? were you able to do it all yourself? i have so many questions for you!

I'm really bringing this thread back from the dead...
I got an opportunity to get a B5 S4 Suspension for really cheap so I went ahead and bought it. I have an 01 A4 1.8t with Non-sports suspension.
Since this thread, which is a few years old, has anyone actually done or figured out if using the s4 suspension on the 1.8t will work? Will it raise the car because of the weight difference? lower it?
I can't afford to go too low because of the road conditions and winters here, and dont want to shell out the money for coilovers so I'm trying to figure out if this would be an easy solution.
Let me know what you think.

I have a B5 S4 and bought the Stasis coilover kit and gave my old S4 suspension to another friend of mine that had a B5 A4. After he installed it it was only slightly lower and a pinch stiffer than the stock A4 suspension. Although if you stare at it long and hard you will notice the front suspension is a couple of mm higher than the rear but you would never notice un-less you were staring at it. I think the total drop was somewhere around 10mm which isn't that much.

the boys on aw are wrong dude, 300lbs isn't going to make it higher at all. think about it this way....how much does an s4 drop when two average sized people (~300lbs) are sitting in it? i'd say, maybe 4-5mm....so figure your car will sit 4-5mm higher than a stock s4....and the stock s4 suspension sits at about the same height as the sport a4 suspension on their respective cars, right? so, if you do the math (my math, anyway), your car should drop a good 15mm from where it sits right now.

but to redgoat. the S4 suspension will be higher in the front. but it will be a little stiffer due to the stiffer spring rates.. i could be wrong though, because you do have the USP suspension, which could be close to the S4 suspension as far as spring rates go
