Default Have you change your WATER PUMP? Then u can HELP me!!!

Currently I'm in the process of changing my water pump after it went bad. I have a 99.5 A4 1.8T Quattro, the only thing thats weird is that i just change the water pump and timing belt a few months ago.

The whole front clip of the car is off and I wanted to know if i had to take off the timing belt to access the pump?

I actually have a print out of this write up and it doesnt say "if you have to or dont" take off the belt. What im trying to avoid is if i do have to take off the belt, then wouldnt i need to change the t-belt tensioner also(because u cant reuse it)?

1.Is there a way i can take of the t-belt tensioner off and put it back on(reuse it)?

2.Do you have to take off the t-belt to gain access to the water pump?

ANY THING WOULD HELP AT THIS POINT!
Thanks

Pretty sure there's a way to reuse the tensioner. I've seen a how-to showing how you compress the piston back into the tensioner using the stopper on the pulley. I don't remember if it was a screw that went in somewhere or if there was a tool used to turn the pulley.

What year is your car? I have an 01 with the water pump a little up and to the right of the tensioner (in the block) and I would obviously have to take the belt off (at least release the tension) to get it out. Anything that's belt driven will have to have the belt taken off. But I don't know which belt drives the water pump on the earlier 1.8Ts.
