whats the deal witht he headlamp washers on the 98 a4, do they all go bad,,and if theyre not bad,,,how in the wold do i turn tem on?

 

Headlights have to be on. YOu have to turn on the winshield washer sprayer for more than 2 seconds. And yes the pumps go bad all the time. I just replaced mine a few months back.

 

Mines always worked

 

My headlamp / headlight washers don't pop up. The lights are on and I am holding the wiper stalk down, but the sprayers don't pop up from the bumper.

How to the sprayers work? Do they work by wiper fluid pressure or are there separate motors to retract the sprayers?

Perhaps the previous owner disconnected the sprayers?

Any thoughts?

 

I broke the one of the spray nozzle tips on my '96 A4 headlight washer. Now I can't put the cover on the bumper. I don't really give a **** about washing the headlight just need to cover that hole in my bumper. LOL...

 

I just bought a 2001 A4 and both headlamp washers are broke, which I don't care about, but I would like an idea or two about covering up the holes. Also some of the washer fluid leaks out through one of them so the stupid fountain is always on the dash display. Annoying as hell. Where does the line go into the bumper so I can pinch it off and forget about these useless pieces of crap? LOL
