Default Headlight Confusion

I've been looking around for some brighter headlights because mine seem pretty dim. I've searched the forums and google and I can't seem to figure out what I need to buy. So I want to know what kind of headlights come stock on a 2000 A4 1.8TQM with the sport package. Are they Xenon? HID? If I want brighter lights do I need to buy a HID conversion kit or can I just use some new bulbs? Someone please help me.

You'll need the HID kit

Which kit do I need? I looked on vvme.com because I read about it on here and they have two different kits and so many different bulb choices. Which one should I go with?

well, you could already have HID's as it was an option in 2000. I would certainly hope you could tell the difference. Otherwise you have the halogen projectors, and need to get an HID kit with no higher than 6000k temp.

And in H7 bulbs.

Honestly,if it's a 2000 and the bulbs have never been changed before- I think just new halogen bulbs would make it better.

Basically, you need D2S bulbs, H7 style, and get either 4300k or 6000k color temperature. Any higher color temp than that and you'll start to lose intensity. The higher temp kits like 8000k still are better than halogen but they're very blue, and the whole point to getting HIDs is for max visibility. Stick with 4300k or 6000k, regardless of whether you have projector or reflector headlights, and you'll see MUCH better at night.

So something like this would be appropriate?
