I have a chance to purchase a set for 2000 projector one pc headlights and a set of 2000 tails from a guy. I know since I have a 98.5 that I will have to switch a couple wires for the tails to work properly(correct?). Since I'm purchasing oem headlights what will I need to do. HERE is the write-up on the 2-pc to 1-pc conversion. This write-up is for "e-codes" from ECS - would my install be the same? It has a step for adding in a new harness. Anybody have any idea where I could get this harness or what else I would need to get the job done.

as far as the headlights, your just gonna need to shave a little bit of the fender, lol...dont let it scare you. It's easy, once you take off your stock headlight its self explanatory

Actually...grinding down the fender was fun. I used a 4 1/2" grinder and it went pretty fast. Just make sure you get a face sheild....or goggles at the least.
You are going to need that harness....unless your buddy is going to give you his. The plug on the back of your two piece lights is round....whereas that one is oval.
Also...find out from your friend if it takes D2S bulbs or H7. I would think it is H7. I am still waiting on vvme.com to get me an email back....but I most likely will have a HID kit for you.

 

I'm sure they use H7's - and buying your kit was already in my plan's - I'll wait to order the wiring kit till I at least get the lights and make sure. Thanks for the help

well I struck the deal - I'm getting the pair of one-pc lights and the tails for $300 shipped - from looking around in all the different forum classifieds I found that just the headlights people had paid $300 for so I think I got an ok deal - plus I'll sell my 98.5 lights and make some money back.

One question about the fender trimming. Is is an option to go back to the two pc lights later? say I'm selling the car, can I reinstall the old lights or does the fender trimming change something. just wondering if I should try to sell my stock 2pc now or wait and sell the one-pc again when I upgrade my vehicle

They still fit man. Since my issue with the ballasts......I had to put my stock lights back in. The corner lights lock into the headlights, so it is not a big deal whatsoever.
Do you still want the H7 ballasts? I just got back from vacation and when I got back, I noticed that vvme hadleft me an email that made no sense, so I am just going to try and sell them on my own.
