What do you guys think about this;
LED Tail Lights for the Audi A8 D3 - Lighting Modification Styling and Tuning Accessories
I wonder if those lights come wih the whole out side lens or only it is LED interior upgrade. Has any body tried these before?

Looks to be quite obvious that the entire housing is replaced...although the same shape, the lenses are completely different.

At $1800, you're not likely to find anyone who's actually bought these...that's a significant fraction of the value of your entire car. Brand new Audi OEM lights (complete) would cost well under that...from ANY year A8.

I believe that I (and most others) would put that kind of $$ into something that actually made a difference...performance item, stereo equipment...anything else...but tail lights? ...seriously?

If I look up 2008 rear lamp assemblies (the first ones I know of that are LED, but I may be wrong), the price doesn't even come close to what your source wants to charge.

Do a little before pulling the trigger. I see them for $330 a pop on AudiUSAParts.com, and that was just my first search.

As an alternative, you can send me all the money you want to drop on those, and I'll source the parts for you.

 

For the OEM stock 04 tail light assy's they run 240.00 each, times 4. For the 08 they run 247.50 each, times 4. I just took a look at an A8 and asked one of our service writers that drives an A8. He said the 04 has led's, but that in 08 the pattern changed to make it look like a more updated version. I have all 4 in stock for the 04 car, but would have to order in the 2008 parts. I just noticed, the 08 tail lights look just like the euro 1800.00 ones in the link you provided. I don't know what is different for euro versions, but they are different part numbers from the US versions.

 

will the rear 2008- 2009 LED cause the bulb failure indicator to display? Also are they plug and play?
