do the V6's need a great heat shield when modding the intake? I assume not because there is probably not as much heat soak with there not being a turbo right under it. Is heat soak a big issue on the v6's? I have a 96 A4 2.8 QM 12v if that makes any difference

Yeh I made a heat shield like that out of roof flashing doubled and bolted together. So far ive checked the intake cone a couple times and its been ice cold, but thats probably because its so cold outside. Will get pics up of it soon, and will keep checking as the weather gets warmer around here...if it ever does
