my g/f has two speeds - off and max. I can't stand it when she get sin my car an immediately puts the heated seats to 6. I'm like, wtf? Why not try something in between first? Now I can scare her with burning a hole through her precious clothes.

 

Ok, so I took it to the dealer and because of the mileage on my car my waranty is over. After a bit of arguing (the hole can't possibly be my fault) they are going to look at it. The possible outcomes are 1- it's a cigarette burn (which it is not... I have my burnt jacket to prove it) in which case they charge me for everything. 2- it's a defect, which they will "work out a deal" with me for. I'll know by the end of the week.

 

This makes me wonder... I hope the seat got super hot really quick, otherwise you gotta be pretty oblivious to not notice your *** on fire so bad it burns through your clothes hahaha.

 

heated seats are my fave feature, i dont even need my heater as long as my seats are warm...

 

My buddy who has a 96 A4 has the same problem. It burned a hole in the seat and almost set his clothes on fire.

 

its more common then you would think.. i have heard of it happeneing a few times

 

+1, yeah it is pretty common. It deff. happened to me. I was not very happy about it. When I went to the dealer, they wanted to charge me a grand or somthing to replace the seat.
