Default Heated seats burning through leather

Recently I turned on my heated seats in my 2005 A4, for the first time in months and after about 15 minutes, I realized that it burnt a hole about the size of a quarter through my seat, my jacket and my shirt. Anyone heard of this happening before? Any recalls?

LOL! Thats pretty warm. Still under warranty? If so I'd take it to the dealership with the burned clothes and see what they say.

the car is 2 years old and these things are covered plus its a serious issue and the dealers would want to know if there was a problem and that's how recalls start

I'll keep you posted on the outcome at the dealership. FYI: I read on a few site that it seems to be a common problem with heated seats in general. (Haven't found any other A4 examples, but a few similar problems have been posted with VW models)

I hope this doesn't happen to me, I use my heated seats everyday in the winter. They are one of the top features of the car for me heh

Second that - I love mine. They're one of my favorite features on the car, hands down. Even moreso for my GF - she's in the market for a car and me having the Audi for the last year has her casing the Audi/Porsche dealership for deals on a weekly basis
