Default HELP!!!

I just bought an 03 A4 quattro about 3 weeks ago. Last night i parked it on front of a friends house for the night. When i started it this morning, the gas gauge showed i had less fuel then i originally thought i had. it showed i had about 1/4 tank left, and soon after driving it dropped to the 10L mark (the red area).
So i filled up immediately, however i was only able to add around 35 liters (66 liter fuel tank).

Whats the deal? Is my sending unit done?
just for the record, it was parked on a SLIGHT angle towards the passenger side, and the temperature did drop to about freezing point that night (if that helps at all).

Someone enlighten me, please!!!!

Thanks!

On a B6, its the passenger's side fuel sender by the fuel pump most likely.

Is there more than one sending unit on this car? Do you think it needs to be replaced, or is there a quick fix?
thanks!

There is a total of 3 sending units in the car, but the one near the fuel pump is the main sender that commonly goes bad because of the JL fuel pump recall. (fuel pump was replaced)

Is it located inside the fueltank?
Would I be able to replace it myself? or am i better off taking it to a shop?
(I promise, no more questions)

Thanks!

Bam_Bam I found this that could possibly help you: https://www.audiforums.com/m_20295/tm.htm it shows you where it is and how to change it.

I'm having a similar problem. I filled up my tank and my gas gauge shows that it is empty. But I remember reading on these forums before if you turn on your car (not engine) that your gas gauge will act like this. Does anyone know how to fix this, I was thinking it was the sender unit, but as I was getting out the car my passenger turned on the car to listen to a CD and I was thinking that caused it. Also how much is a sender and to get it installed if that is the problem?

Thank you
