I recently got a 97 a4 1.8T quattro, I changed the plugs the other day,(the problem did not start until a few days after the change)I have searched but got no info. It seems like the turbo is not even working, my 0-60 time is like 17 seconds, I took off the airbox, most of the air hoses, checked for vaccumm leaks, checked for boost leaks, cleaned the TB, took the pipes off the turbo and it seems to be ok, How would I know if the diverter valve or that N75 valve has gone bad? I don't see any cracked or loose hoses, any ideas, thanks.. I haven't ran any codes I don't have a vagcom..

 

Wow are you throwing any codes, you may be in limp mode, vag it and see what happens.

 

Low octane fuel could cause this problem. Get a code reader.

go to autozone. they will read your codes for free

 

i didnt think 97 had a limp mode? i thought they didnt start that in the car until like 01?

can all autozones read your codes?

 

A bad or clogged N75 valve can cause poor boost performance. Or the engine going into limp mode due to running lean or overboosting.

 

I got a code reader I'll read them today, I don't have any CEL lights on or anything, I do only use premium also.. How can I check to see if that N75 has gone bad?
