Ok so last night I was driving my 06 A4 (FWD) and I was picking up open house signs in the dirt. As I'm pulling on to the street off the dirt I am losing some traction and peeling out in the dirt a little bit. Then as I'm going on the road the ESP warning light is going off along with the ABS light, I think no big deal, right?

So later that night I'm driving and as I'm accelerating like normal on the street, the car starts to stutter and the ABS and ESP lights are going off and the car is acting like its trying to gain traction as if im off-roading or something. Then I start getting all these other warning lights, like turn signal failure, worn brake pads, headlight failure, all while the car is stuttering and trying to gain traction, ABS light is on, Brake light is on, and ESP light is on. So I barely make it home with the hazard lights going, my dash looks like a gosh darn x-mas tree.

I need to take it in to the Service dept. tomorrow, but I'm wondering if it's safe to drive like that or if I should have it towed. I don't know if its the engine or transmission thats making the car stutter or if its the ESP... the car was not overheating or making any other weird noises in the engine bay.

Any advice??

As long as its not to far, get it to the dealer asap. How far do you have to go?

 

About 15 miles or so.

 

I would say if its not too bad, it should be OK.

I mean, is it real bad, like jerking you all around and shiit, or does it feel like you could make it that far?

Does your audi dealer tow for free?

If so, go that route, even though its under warranty, you dont want to totally destroy it if its acting really bad.

 

The car jerks pretty bad, and beeps incessantly.

Am I right in thinking that it is a problem with the ESP and problem not with the engine/transmission?

 

I wouldn't drive it then.

Get them to flatbed it in.
