yep I know but in the USA obdII was out long before the UK in test mode so the 16 pin connector was there plus the standard type in the UK only problem was they/we didn't have the tech to diagnose from the pins with diagnostic equipment now its a different ball game

Default RE: help a new Owner thanks!!!

Hey peops. Im a new member and would really appreciate if somone knowledgeable helped me with this problem:
I just purchased a 1998 audi a4 1.8T. The vehicle has 260k on it but has been serviced very well. Only problem so far is the abs which im not worried about and the MIL light is on, I had it hooked up to the comp. and it comes up as "PO 116 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Range Performance Problem".. Under module it says : Fuel and Air metering. Does anyone know what part is broken/ or what is the problem. I recently purchased k+n filter that is when the mil started coming on and off once in a while - but it never flashed only goes on and off sometimes. Can't tell if it was the filter since i just had the car for a month
Also i still don't know wheter the turbo works, i read several articles in here and im assuiming it does since its 4 by 4 and only 1.8, it does have slow acceleration from 1-3 rpms then it becomes faster but nothing like the stock 9-3 saab for example my friend has, Saab turbo is very sensitive and you are able to tell it has turbo...
Thanks many!!!
