help with engine code...
ok a few days ago i posted that i put in a giac ecu and the next day it threw a code. well, i finally got it scanned and the codes were P0102 which is "mass or volume air flow circ low input" and code P1545 which is "throttle pos. contr malfunction." so, i guess thats why my car died when it came to a stop..does this mean that the giac ecu i got is no good? also i was at work while my friend scanned the car. he took it for a test drive and said that it took forever to warm up..is that common amoung audis?
OK, other than a dead Audi, what year and engine do you have? Very helpful with diagnosing problems. That said,
If you have access to a vagcom, check the MAF airflow. P0102 is a common code for either vacuum leak, loose hose, or alternatively poor electrical supply to the ECU. Since you just re-installed your ECU after chipping it, I'd make sure all the connections are tight and well seated. Make sure you haven't bent any of the connectors.
large false air mass between intake manifold and Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
Voltage supply of Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or wire connections to Engine Control Module (ECM)
- Check intake system for leaks (false air) Page 24-68 .
- Check voltage supply and wire connections .
The 1542 could also be caused by either a poor connection between the ECU and Throttle position sensor. If you haven't done a throttle body adaptation, you should do it after you check the electrical connections.
