Default Help identify leak please

Hey all:

My GF just bought a 2000 A4 quattro 1.8T. Got it home and noticed a puddle of fluid on the passenger's side right under the turbo. Seems to be a light oily liquid that I can't identify. No fluids are low. I removed the bottom cove and everything in the area was wet with fluid around the front passenger side. I wiped off all the fluid so I could hopefully identify the source. No luck. I don't have any manual yet as we just bought the car, but there are from what I'm guessing some remote cooling hardlines that go into the radiator on the passenger side that I suspect could be causing the leak. I want to know from all you Audi buffs, what are the hardlines that go into the radiator on the passenger side? How can I identify the source of the leak?

Also, there seems to be some noise coming from what I think is the egr valve, or very close to that location. Any ideas to check this out?

Any finally, she has only 1 key, the master. How can we get a spare cheap? I heard that replacements are around $400 and have to come direct from Germany. A valet key or emergency key would be great.

Help me with this leak identification please. Tell me what I should do.

Thanks all in advance for reading this and any input you provide.

Does the leak occur over night *when the engines cold* or right after you get home from driving, any idea?

My A/C makes a huge puddle of water every time I stop for more than a few minutes, it may be oily due to the parts of the car it's leaking across to get to the ground if it was anything else you should be able to tell

As for the key I was in the same position as you are, the dealer should be able to make you a spare key that doesn't have the functions it's pretty much a regular key mine was $12

Thanks for replying. I'd say it occurs more after driving. When she arrived this morning at work there was a puddle already starting to form. Half hour later there's a good size puddle there. It looks to me that it's hydraulic fluid. The resovoir is not low. What is the hydrolic fluid for? There's just not much there on that side of the motor other than the two lines that go into the radiator. WHAT ARE THESE LINES? The turbocharger seems to just have coolant lines going to it. It appears to be a greenish light oily substance. Thanks for the replies. I'll have to pick up a spare key for that price. I was dreading a couple of hundred dollars for a spare.

u can get another fully working key fob for about 80 bux total. just get a blank off ebay and then get it cut and then you can program it yourself. if its greenish it might be coolant. but just try not having the air on during the drive home and then park it. after a little while go back out and check to see if theres any fluid on the ground. if not then its just water from the a/c

Thanks on the key info. After searching more, I think it's ps related. I'm really hoping that the rack is ok, and it's some hose connection somewhere. I REALLY want to know what the lines that go into the radiator are. Still searching for someone who's posted this info. It's not coolant or AC condensation.
