Default Help Identify Part -- new help with code now

I think this is a vacuum valve, but I need the part number if anyone can help. I'll post the pics of the location, its above the air filter.

It's a 99 A4 Quattro Turbo 1.8

Thanks

(my hand isn't casper white, I added brightness to the picture)

Your pointing to the location of the N80 Valve for the evap system. Did that check valve have a cover over it?

Why are you replacing it? Is it leaking? Actually i have an idea if its the N80 valve and you dis-connect the lines going to it you won't hear anything, if its a vaccum check valve and you dis-connect the lines you'll hear a vaccum leak. If its a vaccum leak you can use any part number for replacing the check valve, they are all the same. One way in, one way out.

I saw this today when my car started idling super rough and the check engine light came on, so I'm hoping this is the cause

Then you should hear a vaccum leak, if nothing its the N80 valve like i said. You have to go to the dealer for this part as far as i know. Not that expensive.
