Default Help me...

This is my first post in this forum. I have a 2004 Dodge SRT-4 and I am getting a deal on a 2003 Audi A4 v6 (not quattro). I'm getting a 2003 A4 3.0L with 14'000 miles. Can you guys tell me what are the stuff I gotta look at? Any worries on a used A4? I'm gtting it for 24K out the door.

Thanks,
H.T.

Hey htoudiee, welcome to the forums. You are going to have a hard time looking for anything in particular with such low miles. What kind of warranty is remaining?

Welcome to Audi Forums htoudiee!

Since you're new... check out the START HERE! (click this link) link to get a rundown of the lingo/vocab here at audiforums.

Then be sure to search the archives when you have a question. Chances are the question has been asked before (probably several times) and the archives will have plenty of information to answer your question. If you still need answers, please feel free to ask questions.

Don't feel intimidated; we are all a bunch of pretty cool guys (and gals). Feel free to post advice, comments, ideas, suggestions, and even pics.

There were 6 TSB's issued by Audi for that model since October of 2004. Four relate to the cooling, one relates to the steering, and one relates to the fuel injectors. All of these should have been resolved by the previous owner; if not, they should be taken care of by you. Other than that, you should be fine with the car.

Since you had an srt-4 I'm assuming you are a tuner, in which case I would definetly not get the v6, and also would personally never buy a fwd audi. Once you drive awd you will see the difference.

Definately go with the AWD if possible and also if you can go with the turbo for more options with tuning. If you can drive both the FWD audi and then drive a quattro what a difference. Good luck with your purchase though what ever you choose.

Wow... thanks guys. I have been a member of different forums and thanks for reminding me about the SEARCH button I just though I need personal opinion about MY case, that's why I didn't search but thanks.

Here is the deal. I am keeping my lil baby SRT-4. thing is fast enough for me and my stage 3 is in the way anyways (355whp on 100 octane) so, I'm not getting the Audi to go fast (maybe only the Exhaust and Rims will go on), RATHER, I have had a love for audies for years, my future wife will be driving it (and me haha), I came accross this deal (24K out the door for 14'000 miles 2003 A4 V6) and the damn thing is nice. To my surprise, it has the sports package too so better.

Thanks for the TSB infos.

She's trading the 2003 Jetta GLS (non-turbo) that she will be trading for the Audi. Wanted to know if you guy would do it? (assuming all the TSBs, problems-if any.

I would do it. the 3.0L is a nice car with some good ooomph. If you are not going to tune it, then its a good buy.
