Help me decide: 2007 A4 2.0T vs 2005 Audi A4 1.8
Hi All,
I am new to the Audi experience, but I am liking what I see (other than the maintenance cost of course). I am looking at a couple of cars and need your expertise in determining which is the better option.
I am looking at a 2007 Audi A4 2.0T and a 2005 Audi A4 1.8. They are both 4 cylinder turbos. Both are manual and Quattro AWD. Both have just over 50K miles on them. So on the surface they are fairly comperable. The biggest differences are price (2007 is more obviously) and I am seeing a couple body changes (am I just imagining those?). Are there pros/cons between these two models? What are your thoughts? Please share anything you think will help me make a decision here (even if it is to move on). I test drove the 2007 and fell in LOVE! It is a great car!
There is also a 2006 A4 Quattro that has all the same features, but is around 70K miles so I have pretty much ruled that out, but if you have thought please let me know since if I move on to other options the extra info will help!
Thanks! :-)

Hey,
If I was in your position I would opt for the 2.0t over the 1.8. The 1.8 has had many issues over the years as far as engine and turbo components. There are body changes such as styling, but as far as interior differences there are not many. I myself own a 2005.5 audi a4 2.0 T, it now has 104k on it. It is a 6spd manual transmission. Don't be afraid of ownership costs. If you take the time to do your due diligence if there is a problem, you can gets parts online very inexpensively, but in my experience my AUDI's have been pretty solid other than normal wear and tear items. Go with the 07, it may be a bit more but it will be worth more when you trade it in next time than the 05 will be. ( I am a business manager for a dealership, so this I know!)
So IMHO, go for the 07, if you are financing spend the extra 40 bucks a month to get the newer model vehicle, you will be better off for it!
