HELP! NO START AND NO COMPRESSION
2002 A4 1.8t
Car won't start. Check battery it was dead, so charged it up and still no start. I check the cam belt thinking it jumped a tooth but everything looks fine. So i tested for compression, and i get no compression.
Any ideas would be great!

So in order to check compression, you need to be able to crank the engine over, so I'm assuming it cranks, right? How could you get 0 psi compression? Read through the sticky on compression check above and make sure you're doing it right. I think you'll have the newer push on instead of bolt down coil packs.
Next, pull out a coil and check to see if you are getting spark and check to see if you are getting fuel into the cylinders. You will be able to smell the gas on a spark plugfor sure after cranking a few times and pulling out a sparkplug.

sounds like cambelt stripped its teeth on the crank so the bottom turns and the top doesnt, cambelt will look ok because you cant see the damaged part ( you might be lucky the valves might not have struck the pistons ) fit a new belt and check before you rip it apart, assuming that is the problem
very rare indeed unless car has been stood for a very long time and there is no oil in the lifters ( they are hydraulic ) or at worst there is no oil getting round the engine and oil pump could be suspect but without actually doing any tests this is only a guess but at lest it gives you a starting point for diagnosing
