Default 1.8t, has fuel, spark, compression, but won't start?

can anybody help please?i have a 1997 a4 1.8t sport, has done 175k miles, been serviced religiously, ran smooth as you like until the other day when it just stopped and has since refused to start. There is aspark, feul from the pump,and with a manual turn appears to have sufficiant pressure. have had it plugged into two different diagnostic machines one that has brought up the cam sensor and the other a crankshaft sensor, replaced both of these to no avail. also tried removing the oilfilter to check for pressure and this seems ok too. any clues or hints would be greatly appreciated as this is driving me mad! thanks.

now that you have replaced both you can try another scanner and see if they came back, indicating a wiring problem, and not a component problem.. other than that you may have mis checked the spark or the fuel. try checking to see hot and fat the spark is, see how big of a gap it will jump.. it might be too weak to kick it over.. also check to make sure all 4 have spark. how did you check the fuel, i dont know your knowlege of cars, so how you checked things would be helpful incase you made a mistake

175 k is around the point where the timing belt should be replaced for the second time or way past the first time if it has never been done. You will still get fuel, spark, andalot of thetime compression if it has snapped.....have you checked it?

thanks for the help, just to up-date, had it put back on the machine which came up with more of the same problems, checked wires with continuity test and have sent the ecu off to be checked by a friend. fingers crossed this is where the problems lie.
thanks richrich,i did check thecambelt which was replaced recently.
