HELP PLEASE!!!
i bought a B6 A4 a few months back, and i'm due for the 80k tune up. i was told i need to change the cabin filter, air filter, spark plugs, and some other stuff. some shop quoted me at around $500, and i'm getting the impression they dont think very highly of me, to me it sounds like a lot. what else do i need for the 80k tune up, and how do you change the cabin filter?
You're almost due for a timing belt as well if that has not been done.
Yes, all the things they mentioned are pretty normal. Look in your manual there is a maintenance schedule. They just charge a lot to do it. Most of us on the forum do our own maintenece / repairs because it saves you a mint.
Cabin filter is located in the engine bay neear the firewall, not to hard to find.

Do a quick search, one of our members posted a service sheet a few weeks back that had the service schedule. And you can check the cars manuel there should be a sep maint manual with all service req and checks. And finally, if you doubt the cost give another dealership a call. I don't doubt what they told you. I think a 30K or 40K for my Honda Civic was like $300.
