Hey, I got a problem. I recently chipped my car and added sparkplugs because my friends celica-gts was smoking me. But my other friend got the new civic 07 with headers and a pipe system, and he takes me in third... all the way down. What is the best bang for the buck after chip and sparkplugs???? thxx

you say that a civic launched in 3rd gear? and you prolly have an auto and just foored it....you would win in stock form if the civic was taking off in third!...wtf...maybe I am misunderstanding this?...
so, you were chipped....that means you run more boost, which your STOCK diverter valve cant handle...you have mad boost leak cuz your dv took ash!t it sounds like....get a 710N dv immediately (its a dealer stocked dv for the TT)....then after you realize your car is twice as fast without a phat leak go smoke a civic!....
I would honestly have to say that you need to get a boost guage and a diverter valve first thing...after that since you are probably tiptronic you should get a tip chip to help the tranny shift a bit faster....well...I believe you are the first chipped A4 owner complaining about not being able to keep up w a civic...

first of all, there's no way a chipped 1.8 can beat an SI. u would need a bigger turbo. the SI does bout 190hp and it's alot lighter than ur 1.8. i thought u were talking bout getting beat in a non SI. that would be sad.
You should get a dv, a drop in k&n filter for the airbox, and an exhaust.
That will help your cause some, not sure that you'd beat him then, but its all stuff you're gonna need no matter what.
Boost guage too, so you can make sure you're getting the boost you should be.

hmm you guys are underestimating the a4.... 0-60 i take him no problem, my first gear launch is way faster than his. but i said In 3RD that he starts catching up like madddd.

Upgrade it. Seriously. If you're that set on racing the car, go with an upgraded turbo and supporting components. Then you'll do some damage to your opponents. You've got a great power adder already in your car. If it's not cutting it, get a bigger one and solve the problem. Just be sure that if you do go with a bigger turbo, you upgrade other components appropriately (software, boost controller, DV, injectors, possibly clutch as well - not sure how much torque the OEM clutch is rated for). From experience, going from stage 2 (intake/exhaust/ASP pulley) on my 300Z to stage 4 (adding ECU reflash and downpipes), finished my OEM clutch in exactly six days - it had no prayer of holding. I'd be surprised if the OEM 1.8T clutch can handle much beyond factory boost levels. Since Audi likely didn't design the car with extensive modding in mind, the OEM clutch probably doesn't have a whole lot of head room when it comes to turning up the wick on the turbo.
