hey guys ....At themoment i have a 2004.5 350z with plenty of mods...which i am selling...i will be getting either an 04 or 05 audi a4 1.8t........here's the problem...... i have over 300+ hp in the Z and i want to know how much horsepower is possible from the stock 1.8 turbo..and how do i do it????....i know with the chip, injectors, intake , fmic... etc....Also with a moost controller how much boost can the stock k03 handle saftely???.......or do i have to upgrade turbos...because i rele dont want to unless i have too......hopefully i willl have my audi soon..but any information would be GREATY APPRECIATED.....thanx guys

 

you're going to have to go BT if you want to get around 300bhp. stock k03 will not get you there.

Stock a4 w/ stock turbo you can get like 220-230 horse power. k03 can handle like 18-20 psi safely(but you want to chip it not just get a MBC).Upgrading turbos to like a gt28rs would put you at 300+hp. (ive seen them at like 345.) But welcome to the Audi clan...GL with buying your new Audi, and a smart choice.

 

you could probably get a good deal on one that is traded in after a 2 or 3 yr lease with low miles. don't pay too much attn to the miles though it shouldn't matter. be sure to look at the tires. tire wear (if the dealer didn't change the tires) will tell you if the last driver was real ruff on the car or not.

 

thanx guys im not rele looking for 300hp like i have...im just looking for something decent so im not getting smoked by civics ahah...but maximum hp out of the ko3 is only 230 hp....please correct me if m wrong but i could have swore i saw a chip with injectors that gives 235...and then add exhaust intake fmic ...etc.....ive never had a german car before so when it comes to audi im lost aahah

 

Haha its cool man...You couldMAYBE get like 245ISH out of a k03 if you want to spend your money on all that stuff(fmic,exhaust) This **** is expensive for audis..like aGOOD catback exhaust will run at about at leastgrand or more. fmic is like 900 bucks if you buy one pre made for your car...intake wont do ****..total waste of money...so if you do those 2 upgrades.. your looking at 2 grand..thats w/o a chip add a chip and your at like 2500-2700..I would just get a chipw/ injectorsand a test pipe..and you will be happy...........for a while

 

thanx kyle.....believe me i know parts can get expensive..the catback for my Z was $1200 ahahaha....but if i can get 250hp out of the audi safteyi think ill be happy with it....i will hopefully testdrive an a4 soon.....i am hoping they are as quick as everyone says they are...but i appreciate the feedback.....just one more question....like i said i know nothing about audis....what cars give u a race, beat you and do u smoke? so i know wehere i would stand.ahahahah

 

test drive an s4 tooif you can find one used near you.

 

I've been thinking alot as to how to go about setting up the A4 when i buy one. It seems the best thing you could do first obviously is the chip.. get you about 40-50hp. Do an exhaust later, it will cost you between 700-1100 and only will net you another 10 or so hp. After you are done with the chip and wanna throw more $$ down i'd get a BT, prob a good ELIM since its cheaper. While doing that go with the DIY ebay intercooler, you'll get some custom piping done for it and will cost you around $300 instead of $900 for a kit. While doing the BT your gonna need bigger injectors and new software. I would prob do a full exhaust/TP lastly on the car. Oh and a good DV should be done when you do the chip. You can do alil at a time and in the end if you are handy and do most of the work yourself you prob will spend around $3000 from what i;ve read. If it sounds like too much $$ to do that just chip it and maybe get a used K04 for cheap.
