Default Help ! PRND Lights turn on and off

I have an03 Audi A4 1.8T and just noticed my PRND display on the control panel in
front of me will turn off (not be illuminated)for a minute or two and then light back up.
Has anyone heard
of this before?

Any noticable tranny/shifting problems?

No shifting problems. Lights only turn on and off.

Might be a bad connection somewhere, then. Scan it for codes, just to be safe. That might be an early warning sign...[&:]

Is the Audi dealer the only place I can get it scanned for codes?

I think that you can check for them with OBDII, like, at autozone or something. I don't think there is a seperate interface for the automatic tranny.

Take what AutoZone tells you with a grain of salt. I had them scan my car for a CEL and they gave me the P code and said it was one thing, and searching here turned up that it was a cam positioning sensor - something completely different from what they said it was. Still, they'll give you the code, which you can then search/post here to find out the true meaning so you can fix the correct problem.
