Try a new battery, or charge it fully first. Check the voltage on the alternator - should be 12.X volts at the post (not running) and 13.X-14.X running)

when was the last time you changed your blinker fluid?

I say a bad connection or fuse somewhere in the system. it's a wierd situation from what you describe.
