Ok, raining cats and dogs today, and just as I'm about to park her, the wipers would not turn off. I'm playing with the arm trying to get it turn off and nothing. Wipers are possessed... then before I turn her off I hear a buzzing noise and smoke comes into the dashboard into the cabin. Now I have no headlights, turn signals, and wipers. Sounds (and smells) like a short???? Should I take it to the dealer or will any mechanic do? Thx. [sm=dontgetit.gif]

 

Sounds like a short may have something to do with the rain getting into something.. Give it a day in the dry and see if she works normaly again.

 

No audi,VW,BMW guys in town? I would go asap!!!!!!!!!

Seems like a Joke comment to be no offense to you ddd and i hate to be negative but i think it will eat your entire wallet rather than just through it. Did you have a chance to find where the source of the smoke was coming? Don't Know much about shorts but could it be your alternater? I donno hope my suggestions my prove useful.

 

I think that was a good comment the alternator would be my first area then the fuse box

 

The fuse box in the engine compartment would be my first look. In my car it is on driver side below the wipers. Water could get in there, short everything out.
