On level ground try starting in second gear. If the clutch slips it needs adjustment or its burned out.

the clutch is broken! the pressure plate cracking and breaking is the only clutch problem that would make it feel as if you were crushing a coke can. a cracked plate will also cause slipping and grinding/squeking/ scraping noises. Stop driving it now cuz if a peice breaks off it can get lodged in your tranny and you will destroy your transmission.

no they are very britle. you can crack them several ways. if you add gobbs of power at one time (like the installation of a GT28RS kit) with out changing the clutch. the sudden change in power and torque would cause the plate to overload and crack. another possibility is overheatring the clutch. if he took off in 3rd gear for a whole day or two and it was cold outside so it cooled down quick and then he did the same thing the plate would crack from the temperature change. Another thing could ba a warped flywheel or a bad TOB.

yeah stripping gears can happen. the most common way to strip gears is if your shifter is loose and it doesnt fully pull the tranny all the way into gear. you will hear a grinding noise while shifting but once it almost gets into gear you will hear nothing. the next way is not fully putting it into gear while shifting fast. or letting off the clutch to early while tring to shift fast. the fastest way to do this id by shifting w/o the clutch. while you can perform this with no damage you have to know how to do it.
