Help! Timing belt crank marks way off
Did a timing belt job a week ago, 2000 1.8t atw, car has no low end power. All signs point to timing belt off a tooth. Drove it gingerly for the week, just got back into it to adjust. When I line cam marks up, crank marks are WAY off. There has been no valve clash. When I line up the crank pulley mark to the TDC mark on the timing belt cover, the cam marks are off by 3 full teeth. I've rotated engine several times to see if crank TDC would get closer to cam marks. Check out pictures linked. Afraid to adjust too much. Advice?

I have set the crank to TDC, the cam is 3 teeth to the left of the mark (if I rotated clockwise, it would line up in 3 teeth). Question is, should I remove the bent and just rotate the cam ahead a few teeth... or should I line the cam marks up, then pull the belt and rotate the crank twice and get it to line up? Or does it matter?
