Hi, Looking for help with my turbo change. Last week my a4 1.8t (r reg) lost power.
Limped home but any demand of power then great clouds of smoke dumped out behind me. I removed the turbo today and it’s dropped to bits inside. I have never changed or messed about with any turbos before so im looking for any good advice. Is it too dodgy to get a second hand one from a breakers or do I need a new one. If a new one is needed then are the ones on eBay that are not genuine Audi any good at about £240 or do I need a proper one. Also are recondition ones available and any good. What kind of price is the going rate? Any advice where to look for one and any tips while refitting?
