Default RE: Hey all got ?'s

Thank you all for your fast responses,

My current vehicle (which after having read around im afraid to admit):

1995 Honda civic VX ( original motor was the E-vtec, or economy with a highway mpg of around 40, lightweight car [tin can] )
1994 integra b18b1 (ls) non-vtec motor
- cold air intake (does brand really make a difference?)
- Full exhaust (DC 4-2-1 headers, high flow cat)
- lo-cash racing chip
1994 GSR close ratio tranny
along with some minor handeling mods ( anti-roll bars)

On a hot day with crappy track conditions where stock subaru sti's are running 14-15's, the civic ran a 15.2, then on a nice track day it pulled a 14.8 WITH 3rd gear synchro problems (i.e. a slight delay before i can engage 3rd gear otherwise it will CRUNCH)

What kinda performance would i be looking at with a 97-99 1.8t quattro with a chip, intake and exhaust mods? that will be about as far as i go until more funds come my way.
im also considering an integra GSR - at a couple thousand dollar difference, i can spend the money i save on a Jackson Racing supercharger and run mid to low 14's. ANd i will have honda reliability. (mind you im not a ricer, no abnoxious modifications will be done to any of my vehicles)

Lol, we don't mind your kind here you don't have to be so defensive nothing wrong with honda's as long as they have go fast goodies to back up the exterior mods! With a chip and exhaust you'd prolly run aronud 15.2... intake really does nothing for our cars because they only make a hot air intake...I made a cold air intake there were noticable gains with my ko4 set-up.

Well the thing about honda, there is too much emphasis from a majority of the owners on EXTERIOR modifications, from crappy fitting body kits on decent vehicles that make you cringe every time you see them, to obnoxiously loud pipes ( a good formula to follow for those reading : Noise < or = speed ) its just rediculous. anyways, i love my honda for what its given me and i wouldnt hesitate to buy another. this is a big reason thats pushing me to the GS-R: low cost, cheap mods, cheap maintenence, honda reliability (What more could you ask for?) things keeping me away : EVERY ONE and their grandmother drives a honda. :P

i dont know what a ko4 or gt28rs is, my audi lingo is limited. :P

So far im liking the people as you said, i gotta keep my perspective realistic though, college funds first.

Rhawn:Yea the college budget makes it tough..I'm also on a college budget. If you get a chance to drive a quattro that will probably change your mind b/w audi and gsr. The quattro is amazing, I don't see myself every buying a 2 wheel car as a daily driver ever again. The k04 is the first size turbo upgrade..very torquey, and the gt28rs is a garrett turbo that is a lot of fun around 300whp

Audiboy, what year was your car again? It will work if you are 99.5 or earlier and I can tell you all the parts you'll need. It's actually really simple, although u need to have a "hot air intake already"

Yea thats true, not wuite the longevity of the honda. I was geussing 160k-200k, but in a post i just saw somewhere many people were over 200k and some around 250k. Give it a couple more years and I think you'll see more in the 200k-250k range
