I have a 00 1.8 tq. I recently got in a little fender bender and needed some advice. I don’t have a lot of money to spend, but I was thinking since the front end is off, doing a little upgrading. I wanted to get a new turbo and was wondering if a used s4 turbo would be a good cheap way to get some more hp. I also wanted to know if that could bolt right onto the exhaust manifold/downpipe. If an s4 turbo won’t work, what would be a good turbo on the less expensive side? I also was looking at front mounted intercooler and wanted some advice on those. I needed a new bumper and found a guy selling an s4 bumper for cheap so I bought that too. If you guys have any other suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

How many miles? If you have front end damage, and they have the front end off, you might want to do the timing belt, etc.

Not may area of expertise, but I don't believe that the S4 turbo will fit. However, a nice K04 would be great.

 

The S4 housings are different than the A4 turbos iirc. You'd be better off buying a k04 kit. An S4 bumper will bolt right on no mods needed. Although I have to warn you your car will look funny if you don't put on S4 side skirts. It will llook like it has an overbite.

 

oooooohh jest u told me the same thing when i got my reiger and it looks fine. sometimes piece by piece is the way to go. back to the question i would get a ko4 and a greddy front mount

 

get the k04 and go wit something else besides the s4 front
