Will i have to retro-fit a kit on my a4 or is there an easy route to go with this. On my prelude i had to retro-fit it ( 99 prelude ) but on the e36 there was a direct bolt on plug and play kit.

any help is appriciated!

I am pretty sure you can get plug and play kits that retrofit the base. Its the base of the bulbs that you have to worry about not fitting. The base of HID/Xenon bulbs are quite big. They can work and fit, I think there are a few people on here and more on audizine that have kits.

I was getting ready to do this myself rather than shelling out like $500-600 on Valeo E-code Xenons.

What year do you have? Not much point in retrofitting it into non projector housings. Check out oemhid.com

Well some of the B5s came with Xenons as an option, so if you are still searching for a B5, I'd definately try and get a factory one.

Yup, can't beat factory HID's. I don't think I'll buy another car without them.
