Hi all,

I have a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T and I've been having a problem with the drivers side Headlight.

For the past few months I'd get the headlight warning signal and the headlight would go out but it would be an intermediate problem. The problem would come and go but the past week the headlight went out and never came back.

I took the car into my mechanic and he told me the ignitor is gone bad. We installed a new ignitor and everything was fine for a couple of days but today the headlight warning came on again while I was driving and the same headlight went out. I flicked the headlight on and off and the light came back on and the warning went away.

I'm afraid that the same problem is startign and the ignitor is going to go again, has anyone had this problem before? What could be causing this?

The ignitor was not cheap so I do not want to keep buying a new ignitor every few months.

Also, is it possible to change my factory installed HID headlight system back to normal headlights.
