Yes that is a factory HID setup. If you buy any setup other than the two I posted you may have to mount the ballasts someplace other than on the tray under the headlights. The color of the light output has nothing to do with them being from a Merc. It has everything to do with the type of bulb. 4300k is a white bulb 6000k and higher will be blue.

There is a huge difference between halogen and xenon. You can buy bulbs on ebay for around 60 bucks a pair. Unless you have projectors (US or Ecode) xenon isn't really worth it.

8k are starting to get into the range where light output is decreased.

Thats kinda confusing. Ecodes are 1 piece. And yes I love mine, the light output of the European cutoff is 10x better than the US pattern.

US 1 piece

Euro 1 piece (ecodes)

Ecode Beam Pattern:

Actually 6k is probably the max you should get, you are already trading off the output with color with 6k.

For those who dont know me. I am the owner of http://www.oemhid.com and I sell a lot of OEM Audi xenon parts.

If you got any questions, feel free to contact me.

Wow! he was watching!

If anyone is contemplating buying a xenon kit, I highly recommend ProtocolD. When I lost one of my ballasts on the highway, I bought a replacement from him. He had it out same day and I recieved it quickly.
